Kelly LeMasney

Feeling stuck? At a crossroads in your career or emotional life? Even the strongest among us can feel lost, unsure, ambivalent, or unhappy at times. As a Licensed Counseling Professional, I can help you understand and manage whatever life throws at you, and how to do it successfully. I believe that you have the strength not just to survive, but to truly thrive.

The paths that lead us into therapy are different for each one of us. You may enter my office with excitement, reservation, indifference, anger or exhaustion. Regardless of what brings you in and how you’re feeling, it takes tremendous courage to make the decision to take a look at yourself.

I am here to help you to navigate through this particular journey in your life. The tools of navigation are varied: Individual counseling with a person-centered, strength-based approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness training and generally holistic approach to the therapeutic process are employed to bring about the best possible result.

My experience as a therapist has brought me into contact with many who discovered their courage in their own depths, in the sea of their own feelings and memories. The author, Louisa May Alcott wrote, “I’m not afraid of storms, for I’m learning how to sail my ship” Take the first step with me and find out that you too are a brave navigator.

My journey as a counselor started in 2009 while I was going through many difficult life-transitions of my own. I received my bachelors degree in Behavioral Health Counseling from Drexel University, then continued my path at Rutgers University where I earned my Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. During that time, my work focused on substance use and co-occurring disorders at the residential level of care. I am very grateful for the experience and training that I have had over the years which led me to private practice. I am a licensed professional counselor and licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor. I also have specialized training in gambling disorders and body-focused repetitive behavior. I understand how addiction and mental health go hand in hand and how each individual has their own experience and journey. Let me help you learn and develop better ways to handle the issues that are standing in the way of your goals.

I will meet with you individually  to help you address the issues that are concerning you.   Together, we will collaborate on a plan that will guide you in exploring and understanding your thoughts, feelings and behaviors in a supportive and confidential setting.  Therapy enables you to cope more effectively with the issues that are concerning you, to make meaningful changes in your life, and to achieve greater life satisfaction.
